What is Online Education?
Online Learning, also known as Distance Education, is simply learning that happens when the student and the teacher are not together in the same place at the same time, usually while the student is at home, or in a conveniently located off-campus site. Some courses require on campus testing or at an approved proctored location. Southern Maine Community College makes use of a variety of media for delivering their online courses; the web and email, software applications, CD's, DVD,s and mobile devices.
